music at st joseph's

At St. Joseph's

The Parish of St Joseph's is lucky to have a varied selection of good musicians of all ages playing at the Masses.

Our resident organist is Geoff Kinton.
He plays at the 6.30 Saturday evening and 9.30 Sunday morning(Polish) masses.
Geoff plays at Weddings and Funerals at the Church as well.
He also joins in with our folk group playing his violin at the 10.45 Sunday morning whenever is able.

The Folk Group play at the 10.45 Sunday morning Mass.
They also play at the First Communions, Confirmations, Easter Masses and 5pm and 7pm Christmas eve Masses, plus others when asked.

St joseph's Folk Group

As can be seen in the photo, the group consists mainly of guitars, flutes and clarinets.
At times other instruments are also featured such as cellos, oboe, violin, and percussion.
At Christmas many old members join in again for the 5pm and 7pm Masses.
One of our old members also comes along to play Trumpet at the rememberance service in November.
Singing with the folk group, there is a small choir of 4/5 people.
Anybody interested in finding out more about the folk group or choir are always welcome to speak to Bryn Phillips or Sue Wallace who run the group.

Last but not least.
The music at 6.30pm mass on Sunday is provided by Donna Donovan and Pauline O'Dricoll in the form of Guitar, Percussion and vocal.

The Diocese of Westminster arranges music workshops on a regular basis which most of our musicians attend. The workshops are always enjoyed and a lot is gained from them.
